Item details

Steel, Wood

For any outdoor- or knife-enthusiast. This knife is completely handmade, from the handforged blade to the handle and leather sheath, in the Scandinavian style. Made to look pretty, but also function, this knife will be usable for many different tasks in the wild outdoors. This particular knife is relatively small and nimble, with a slightly more feminine look.

The handle is Birch Burl, with birch bark spacers and reindeer antler pieces. The front piece of antler has been engraved with a pattern and filled with coaldust. The sheath is vegetable tanned leather, coloured with a light brown oil based dye, and contains a wooden inlay to give shape and keep the blade protected. Before shipping I will treat the sheath with a protective leather wax, and if you would like some kind of customization in the form of a pattern, initials or something similar, that will be included in the price. Approximate length of entire knife is 20 cm.

This knife comes with a standard guarantee that if anything breaks following normal use, I will either issue a refund, or we will agree on a way to resolve it or repair it.

All bone is washed properly, and sanded heavily to remove any material that may rot. The wood is properly dried for a long time before use, and also cut and sanded several times. At the end, they are coated with oil and a wax polish, so they will be safe for use.
All wood is taken from sustainable forest, and as long as it's feasible, without cutting down the entire tree or bush. The bones are leftovers from the local butchers.
As I am not running this shop full-time, it's difficult for me to say how long it will take to create something personal. It also depends on what the customer wants and how technically challenging it will be. If you are interested in a custom item, contact me directly and we'll see if we can make an agreement.
Yes, they are. I have three Alaskan Huskies that have been gnawing on bones since they were puppies, and they have no problems eating and breaking them up now, as adults.
