For sale is a highly collectible, desirable prewar tinplate Lionel 262 engine and tender. These date back to 1931-1933 and are very desirable by diehard Lionel collectors because of the detailing on the engine. As you can see, the engine has a lot of copper piping along the top and sides and it has red colored spoke wheels that are in excellent condition. The directional switch is in the cab and is a lever that goes up or down depending on which direction you want the engine to go. There is no smoke unit (smoke units weren't placed in engines until 1946) and the tender does not have a whistle. This unit runs very good for a 80+ year old engine. This would be a nice gift for yourself, or someone that is into collecting trains. Please look at the pictures and judge for yourself.
