Abstracted Portrait Painting of a Weimaraner Dog

I've always admired the Weimaraners. Their beautiful shapes and gleaming sleek coat impress me with an independent attitude and grace.

The background of this painting is mostly shades of muted purples, gray and blue with touches of brighter blue . The overall painting feels dramatic with the last rays of sunlight reflecting off the dog and his bright blue eyes shining right at us. The brushwork is smooth and the colors and shapes lock into each other with both soft and hard edges.
