Height: 12 Inches; Width: 12 Inches

This is a limited edition of 15 giclée prints of a landscape painting of Cape d'Or in Nova Scotia. These archival prints are 12 x 12 inches on Canson Infinity Aquarelle Rag paper. The print captures the vivid color of the painting with maximum accuracy. The prints are signed and numbered.

The Cape d'Or is located in Nova Scotia on the Bay of Fundy. The Mi'kmaq, the native people of Nova Scotia, have called this area L’mu’juiktuk for the last 2000 or more years. The French came to Nova Scotia around 400 years ago and named it Cape d’Or because of the copper deposits in the cliffs. This painting captures the copper-colored cliffs overlooking treacherous tidal currents in the Minas Channel. Three tidal currents converge on this area and the tide can rise 53 feet in 6 hours.

My husband and I had an artist residency in Nova Scotia one summer. We got to the Cape in the late afternoon and missed low tide, but I got to see these cliffs in the beautiful evening sun when they glow with reds, golds, and pinks. I painted these 660-foot cliffs standing near the Cape d’Or lighthouse, with a steep 100-foot drop directly behind me.
