Mid Century Rocking Rooster, Kids Bouncing Rooster, Kids Ride On, Strong and Sturdy, Farm Toys, Kid Tested and Kid Approved

What can I say, the pictures say it all! This rocking and bouncing mid century Rooster came from an Estate Sale at Fort Benjamin Harrison. I had to bring him home....he practically followed me.

This is not a flimsy ride-on or rocking Rooster, he was created in the 1950 or early 1960s. Quality, strong and sturdy, the wood is a hardwood, the springs are very sturdy (no rust at all) and the dowels are thick and sturdy. It has lasted for about 70 years so far, I imagine it can go another 70 or so. There are signs of age on the paint, some nicks, stray paint strokes here and there, but I decided to leave as found. I dusted and wiped him down, but leaving as is, he has aged to farmhouse perfection. The legs have had much of the stain rubbed off, you may want to do some more cosmetic work on him, but will leave that up to the new owner.

The neighbor's kids saw it while I had it out to photograph. They rode it, bounced it, rocked it. They loved it. They were impressed that they were riding a Rooster! I was happy to let them, as I wanted to see just how it moved in action. Not tippy. You expect a wooden pony, but a Rooster? A great piece for a farm kid, very unusual decor piece, definitely a conversation starter for the adults.

This handsome fellow measures 27 inches long from his beak to tail. He stands 27 inches high. The depth is 13 inches. The beams that make up the 2 main boards at the base are 2" X 2", made of solid oak, strong. The connecting dowels are solid, not flimsy at all. The construction is solid, sound, and sits flat and true. The springs are very solid and there is absolutely no rust or deterioration. The appearance is charming as is, however you may decide to do some cosmetic type changes.

This will be shipped via USPS. However, I will also do a price comparison with Fed Ex. I will ship with the least expensive, yet reliable and safe, carrier. The Rooster in his box, with all packing materials will weigh approx 20lbs. Shipping of this weight and the dimensions of the box, to your particular zipcode is what determines the shipping expense. It is auto calculated. If for any reason, your actual shipping charges are less than charges, a prompt refund of overages will be processed.
