She's a little forlorn, but I can still see her beauty...beneath the crazed and peeling painted face...there is a beauty from the past. I have researched these and discovered boudoir dolls were quite popular from the twenties to the forties and were decorations for the bedroom.

This little lady has what I believe to be part mohair wig and part synthetic hair that is in carefully place ringlets. I can feel and see a few bobby pins in there holding the curls.

She has a breastplate that goes into a stuffed long body with the torso which appears to be filled with straw or sawdust. The legs are soft with cotton and then go down into a molded plastic with black heels. Her arms are molded plastic with dainty hands and painted nails.

This mysterious beauty is wearing two slips and a blue velvet-look dress which I do not believe to be original to her. She also has a little strand of pearls around her neck.

I wish I knew more about her. I know that a company called Sterling made many boudoir dolls but I don't know how to tell if she is a Sterling or not. I know she is far from perfect condition and could use some TLC. I have also read there are people who restore these boudoir dolls beautifully.

Do you have any questions about her? I would be glad to look at a particular detail if you are a collector. I'm just not familiar with boudoir dolls in any expert kind of way.

Please no returns on vintage items unless I've just really goofed up on the measurements, and I try really hard not to do that! I LOVE shopping on Etsy and want you to have a wonderful experience shopping with me. Please convo me with questions.
