I began this altering project by burning the paint off of an altoid tin using a hand held torch. I then burnished the tin with an antique copper patina.
The lid has been decorated with a polymer clay image transfer of a winged cherub. I mounted this image inside a hand created decorative polymer clay frame and then rubbed it with copper leafing.
I added bits of old jewelry featuring tiny beads and rhinestones to embellish the frame. Beneath this frame is another "frame" of hand stamped polymer clay that has been burnished with more copper leafing and accented with two tiny flowers snipped from an old brooch. This tiny second frame holds another image transfer that reads "Dance". The inside of the tin has been lined with antique ledger paper.
It will make a truly unique presentation for that special gift or a neat gift for yourself or a friend. Or just a pretty place to store pins, tacks or whatever.
The tin measures 3 3/4 inches tall by 2 3/4 inches wide and will arrive in an artfully collaged gift box.
