The full moon on Saturday, March 19, 2011 was a Supermoon. The moon appeared much larger and brighter than a normal full moon because it was the closest it had been to Earth in 18 years. Moonrise over Colorado was initially obscured by clouds - how disappointing you say - but then . . . it broke free and gave us a great show! The clouds added depth and mystery to the beautiful sight!

Image size is 8x10.
