It is easy to understand why quill-work as an art was held in such high regard among native peoples. This is a splendid vintage 1960's "Native American Quill-Work Medallion Necklace"!

Native Americans have meticulously created this type of jewelry for centuries! In the 60's and 70's these items where often made to sell to tourists.

This particular necklace has been created using small seed beads. It has a wonderful clean, bright white base with light blue accents around the "chain" and in the tassels.

The center quill-work has a traditional nine (9) point "flower" or "star". The seed beads are pretty colors of navy blue, light blue, and white with red accents.

The back of the medallion is finished using beige leather and blanket stitching it to the medallion.

I have hand washed and inspected this wonderful necklace and do not see any missing or loose beads! It is in EXCELLENT vintage condition!
