This vintage afghan is not your usual granny square afghan. Cuddly for a camp fire night and because grannny sqaures are each made individually then sewn together this could be easily recycled into a long fairy jacket, shrug, shawl or hippie skirt.

The colors used have a very romantic feel in purple, violet and off white surrounded by the typical black. All done in wool and it has never been washed just made and put away. My monitor shows a slightly bluer color than the actual rich dark purple it is. Whoever made this was very skilled, this is a wonderful piece of crochet work.

The squares are small (which would lends itself to reconstrustion) and tightly crocheted and laid out in a pattern that gives this a look not typical of this type of afghan. Each square is about 4 1/2" square with the afghan itself being laid out in a 58" square.
I don't think this was ever used, it's in wonderful condition and because it's wool has some heft to it but can be mailed in a medium priority mail box.
