Handmade

Material

acrylic fabric

This 3-yard Aztec rebozo scarf is made with a traditional Mexican acrylic fabric, in black, with a multicolour striped pattern. The chosen fabric makes it one of the most traditional-looking rebozos.

This rebozo consists of a rectangular piece of fabric, measuring 3 yards by 30.5 inch width (2.74metres x 78cm). Its long edges are folded and stitched in place, and the short edges are zig-zag stitched, with an inch of fabric frayed for a traditional look.

100% Acrylan.

Your rebozo can be wash, in cold water, in the delicates cycle or by hand, and best if dried flat. Please no tumble-drying or wringing. It can be ironed at medium temperature setting, with pressing cloth over the fabric.

"Rebozo" is the Mexican equivalent to a shawl or long scarf, and it serves many purposes, in addition to fending off the cold while looking gorgeous. Mexican women use it for babywearing, carrying their market loads, lulling babies to sleep, and midwives use it in their work. This rebozo scarf is offered as both a cover against cool temperatures, but also as a pregnancy, labour or postpartum tool for doula and midwife work.
