Vintage Blue And White Teacup And Saucer With Blue Delphiniums. 1930s Royal Standard Tea Cup and Cake Plate Trio, For An Afternoon Tea Party

Description ~

This vintage blue and white trio with a blue delphinium flowers pattern is so very pretty. It is entirely painted by hand, without any transfer pattern, and has been painted with such great skill and delicacy - the delphiniums and their foliage leap off the china and their bright white background. The pattern is also continued inside the teacup, as the top, which is a lovely little touch. The blue is a very beautiful shade and contrasts brilliantly against the bright orange centres of the flowers, the green leaves and white china. Delphiniums are always associated with a pretty English cottage garden and this pattern makes for a particularly unusual trio. This little tea set would stand out on your tea table and would also display beautifully.

Dainty and delicate, this trio bares the 1930 - 1949 makers mark of Royal Standard Bone China, which was a label of china produced by the Staffordshire English pottery Chapmans Longton Ltd. Royal Standard are known for their pretty floral designs and are widely sought after and collected. There is also the hand painted pattern number of 1916 underneath the base of the teacup. The shape of the teacup is also especially delicate and dainty.

This trio is perfect as gift to someone who loves tea and flowers! It would also make a wonderful gift for a special occasion such as a Christmas, or for a birthday or wedding.

(I have previously sold a pair of trios in this pattern. This is a single trio, in not quite as perfect condition as the pair I have already sold, hence the slightly lower price).

Condition ~

This trio is in good, usable, vintage condition. There is one little chip on the side of the saucer, as can be seen in photo 8. There is some minor crazing to the glaze (as shown in photo 7), commensurate with age and use. There is some wear in places to the rim gilding, as can be seen in the photos, which is perfectly commensurate with age and use. The pattern is in good bright condition, with minimal wear. There is the tiniest, faintest and extremely shallow hairline crack in the base of the teacup, as shown in photo 9, which does not run through the entire depth of the china to the outside of the cup. It does not affect usability or soundness in anyway, but price reflects condition. Please remember this is a vintage item that has been loved and used, it is not brand new and so small and minor signs of use, adding to their character, will be present. Please just ask if you would like any further photos.

Packaging and Shipping ~

Your order will be gift wrapped FOR FREE as standard!

**FREE CHRISTMAS THEMED GIFT WRAPPING AVAILABLE AT THE CHECKOUT, AS A FREE SHIPPING UPGRADE! Ribbon and decoration used may vary from that shown in the photo, but it will be just as pretty**
