Yet another environmentally friendly yarn made from recycled scraps and spun with locally raised fleece. This single ply skein was spun using a base of dark chocolate-coloured Black Welsh fleece blended with bits of coloured merino, puffs of fluff, and yarn snippets, all carefully saved leftovers from my spinning. The last photo shows what it looks like knitted up in stocking stitch.

Black Welsh is a colour type of the Welsh Mountain sheep, a small but very hardy breed whose fleece have been prized since medieval times for lightness, durability, and rich natural colours. Their Welsh name? "Efaid Mynydd Cymreig” - try to pronounce that one! As a spinner, it’s a privilege to have the opportunity to reside in the United Kingdom where I am in proximity to such a wide variety of native sheep.

A 150 gram (5.2 ounce) single ply skein, approximately 80 yards long, spun in a pet and smoke free environment. Yarn Weight = 7 to 8 wraps per inch (Chunky/Aran) This is a one-of-a-kind skein, but I will regularly be spinning and listing up Bits and Bobs style yarns from recycled scraps.
