A new spin on a traditional book. The front cover is made of sturdy stoneware clay, textured with my unique designs. Every one is different and a work of art. The back cover is matched to the front shape with leather - making it durable for use.

The coptic stitch spine is flexible, unsupported by paper, the covers and signatures (groupings of paper) are held together by the braided threads of waxed linen. This allows the book to be opened flat, great for writing or drawing. I use thick white 70 lb. drawing paper or ivory 65 lb. card-stock papers which I cut to size and fold, to make six inside signatures. Each book contains 60 pages, 120 double sided.

This would make a lovely gift for birthdays, graduation or a special occasion.

Dimension: 6.5 inches x 4.5 inches. approximately 1 inch thick.
Weighs about 1.5 lbs

* Due to the nature of the clay cover I would not recommend packing this journal for a hike on the Appalachian trail, but it would be fine to carry in a padded bag or handled with care, just like other delicate items such as a kindle, phone, or mug.

* I ship USPS priority mail with delivery confirmation. In some cases I may use recycled packing materials.
