Truly a one-of-a-kind necklace, after all, no two pieces of sea glass are exactly alike now, are they? Lovely piece of sea glass, measuring 1" wide by 3/4"long, rescued from the rocky coast of Maine. Nicely frosted, smooth edges, created from tumbling in the waves for who knows how long?

I drilled a hole in the glass using a diamond tipped drill bit. (If you've never done this, it has to be done in water to keep the glass from overheating and cracking. Add electricity, and there's a bit of excitement involved in the process!) At any point there's the danger of too much pressure and a crack developing. Then I created this lovely little swirl, hammered and polished it, fed it through the hole I created and made the bale from the same piece of wire. It's so interesting, the swirl swings a bit freely according to the movement of the wearer.

Graces your neck from an 18" chain, with handmade clasp. All of the sterling silver I use is from reclaimed and recycled resources. Same high quality as traditional sterling silver, but so much better for the environment. Please visit my website, www.martinijewels.com under FAQ's to learn more.

Arrives in a cotton filled gift box, (made from recycled materials, of course!), complete with ribbon and complimentary square of silver polishing cloth. Hand written gift card included, if needed. See last picture for box photo. Enjoy!
