Height: 4 Inches; Width: 12 Inches

It's not easy for an item like a wooden bowl — especially one of modest size — to live up to a word like "spectacular," but I think this one pulls off that achievement. Made from a section of the roots of a fallen oak tree, this bowl boasts both truly remarkable and beautiful grain figure in its interior and a wildly convoluted shape to its exterior. The interior features the swirling grain patterns and intense color variations common to oak root wood, while the outer shape of the piece is formed by the tangled and intertwined segments of the tree's roots. The coarse bark that forms most of the outer surface of the piece ranges in color from a silvery yellow to almost black.

This bowl is truly a work of art, wrought mainly by the hands of nature and with some assistance from me -- the person who found the wood and carved it into a form that you can take into your home to enjoy.

12 inches in its longest dimension, about 6 inches wide and 4 inches to its highest point (30 x 15 x 10 cm). A nice size for holding chocolates or other miscellaneous items, or perhaps best of all, just to keep in a place of honor in your home where you can enjoy and display to your guests its spectacular and unique beauty.
