Back in the late 1800's, hand-cranked coffee grinders were a fixture in every general store. Now you can re-capture some of that bygone era while enjoying the same fresh "crush-ground" coffee as electric boutique machines at less than half the cost - and without electricity! (Works during power outages, doesn't contribute to Global Warming! Think of it as "guilt-free" coffee! .

This coffee grinder features a heavy-duty cast bronzed mechanism, patterned after the coffee grinders found in the general stores of the 1800's, set on a distinctive "barrel" base just like our Olde Tyme Pepper Mills.

Simply pour your coffee beans in the top (takes about 6 tablespoons-ful), turn the crank and the fresh-ground coffee falls into the removable base. Adjust the grind from coarse to extra-fine by a simple twist of the top-mounted knob. (Pre-set for drip coffee makers)

The base is hand made on a wood lathe from two pieces of air-dried black walnut laminated together and French-polished using eco-friendly bysahki shellac. There is a minor drying crack on the outside bottom of the base. It is fully stabilized and adds to the rustic character of the piece.

About 11-1/2" tall by 4-1/4" in diameter at the base

A gift of distinction for the coffee lover who appreciates fine wood-turned art!
