Antique wooden chair originally made for a small child or a doll. It appears to be hand-made, painted and decorated. This little wooden chair is made from boards that are close to 1 inch inch thick, although the backing is made from particle board that was painted and decorated with a stencil.

Based upon the style of the stencil design, this piece is from the 1940's or perhaps early 1950's. It is 15 inches wide and 18 inches tall. It was painted in a white-cream color and blue, and even the underside is painted.

Years of robust use and perhaps of neglect has given it great character. Paint has chipped and peeled off, the floral decal is worn. The most notable issue is a large crack though the wood on the front right-hand leg at the bottom. This could be left as-is, or could be repaired -- but would not recommend that this chair be used by a child unless it is repaired.

This chair would be a great bit of decor -- it would look lovely with a doll displayed on it or with some dried lavender and rose in a little vintage pot. There are many possibilities.
