Item details

Vintage from the 1970s

As this is almost certainly a piece of national costume or 'peasant' clothing (possibly for the tourist market), it is quite hard to date but I am guessing that it is 1940s/1950s based on the feel of it (and the age to the reverse panel). Certainly it fits with earlier and later trends for such things, so is a timeless piece of bohemian clothing. A strip of woven fabric is backed with cotton and trimmed with complimentary orange ric rac, and laced with three eyelets down each side of the front. The tie may well be a replacement but suits it very well.

2" deep and 31" long

Woven panel backed onto a stiffer cotton backing.

Age related foxing to the backing fabric and a slight grubbiness on the white stitching on the front. Sold as vintage.
