Although I grew up in Maine, I did not visit Acadia National Park until the summer of 2010. This piece depicts Bass Harbor Light, which was built in 1855. Combining some of my favorite elements, such as water, trees, architecture, and natural textures, this landscape is a showcase of my best techniques.

I hand cut all of my work from single sheets of black paper using an X-Acto knife/blade. All of my pieces are cut from one continuous piece of paper, meaning all parts of the design interconnect. I use acid-free, archival paper and mount my pieces to white mat board with an archival adhesive, resulting in a quality work of art that will last for generations.

I have been papercutting professionally since 2007. My work has been shown in galleries and museums across the country, was featured in the Wall Street Journal, and made history as the first pin on Pinterest, chosen by Pinterest founder Ben Silbermann. I am also a member of the Board of Directors of the Guild of American Papercutters.
