In Buddhism, the prayer beads (or prayer mala) serve to aid the Buddhist in focusing his or her mind for meditation. The Buddhist chants "om mani padme hum" 108 times, touching each bead as they chant. Resting beads are placed every 18 chanting beads to give you time to pause and reflect.

This prayer mala is 57 beads long (54 chanting beads and 3 resting beads). Secured on thick embroidery thread, these dark green and pearlescent white beads can be carried in a pouch or worn on your wrist for easy access. Each bead is hand formed and the symbol "om" is carved into each resting bead.

Each item is handmade upon order so please allow 4 to 5 days for processing (i.e. I've got to make it!) before shipment. Every shipment gets delivery confirmation placed on the package, thus the larger shipping price. If you don't desire it, I'll refund you the 75 cents it'll cost me! If you wish to have the beads on elastic instead of embroidery thread to be worn more easily, please specify when ordered.
