This clear pear-shaped glass paperweight features a symmetrical controlled bubble design and a burnished brass-colored metallic leaf at its top.

The pear measures 3" high and is 2 1/4" wide at the widest point. The leaf, attached at the center top, is 2" long and 3/4" wide at its largest point. This item weighs 10 oz. and is in very good condition with no scratches, chips or cracks.

There is no maker's mark or signature to identify its origin or its exact age. I can vouch for it being over 37 years old. It came to me as part of a private collection of glass paperweights that were all purchased - some new, some used - prior to 1974. I believe just about all to be American-made contemporary (Post WWII) pieces. Most came from the many glass factories located around the West Virginia, Maryland and Pennsylvania convergence region, such as Kanawha and Blenko, and were collected in the late '60s and early '70s.
