These stunning 19th-century Dresden porcelain plates are delicately handpainted with flower blossoms, skillfully executed in the classic German style (similar to Meissen china). It looks like fairies flew down and sprinkled their miniature bouquets over the porcelain. It's amazing to think of the care and artistry that went into these serving pieces so many years ago. The flowers include morning glories, forget-me-nots, bright gerbera daisies, roses, peonies, and more. The mixture of flowers depends on the individual plate - these aren't cookie-cutter assembly-line pieces, so there are slight variations depending on what the artist felt like painting at the time the plates were decorated!

The plates do not have a clear factory mark -- it's pretty common for china this old to be unmarked except for maybe a pattern number or decorator's signature. These particular pieces seem to have subtle inscribed markings on the bottom; one looks like a bass clef, one looks like an overlapping letter V and X, one looks a little like an arrow. I had trouble getting clear photos of these.

I have two (2) of these plates left in total. This listing is for ONE plate. There is one plate with a chip that I will save for last and list at a lower price. If you would like to buy both of the two remaining plates, please let me know and I'll set up a special listing for you!

These one-of-a-kind plates would make a very special wedding or housewarming gift, and a lovely addition to an Easter / spring - themed table.

These plates measure 8.25 inches across, and weigh 394 grams each. They are the perfect size for a small picnic lunch with a sandwich, a few chips and maybe a pickle!

Very good to excellent antique condition. There is very little surface wear on these. One of the plates has a 3-mm chip at the edge and will be slightly discounted; I found no damage on any of the others.
