Musical Abstraction... painting the way it feels to 'play' the instruments. As an artist and musician, I attempt to capture the essence and energy of the instrument I'm trying to depict, and transfer that feeling of musicality to the canvas. I have been creating musical abstraction since 2003.

"Notes on the Slopes" is an original acrylic painting on canvas panel measuring 20x24 and framed in Nielsen aluminum moulding. Finished size is approx. 21x25.

Notes on the Slopes is a fun freewheeling abstraction of visual notes resembling a frenetic ski slope moment, when the crowds, the lifts and the skiers on their chair lifts are all being elevated above the fray... replete with visually stunning stanza's and notes (skiers) swaying musically left and right.

This abstract evokes jazzy pop rock influences and is full of subtle musical energy! The background is off white surrounded by a myriad of color and musicality.

The perfect sized piece for that space you have in your studio... where you know this would generate inspiration for continual practice and play.

This "fine art" original artwork represents a mix of classical musicality into a contemporary acrylic painting with overtones of abstract expressionism. For added protection, the artwork has several coats of varnish to seal the surface but this original acrylic painting should NOT be hung in direct sunlight as fading will occur over time. Minimal sunlight exposure is totally acceptable.

All materials used in the framing process are archival products commonly used in conservation framing. All hanging materials necessary to mount on most wall surfaces are included.

This item will ship to you via FedEx at no charge. A custom crate/shipping container will be built for this item at no extra charge.
