Item details

Height: 1.25 Inches; Width: 7.5 Inches

Made from a section of the roots of a fallen ash tree, this bowl features some beautiful grain figure in its interior, a coarse dark bark exterior, and a fun, squiggly overall shape. The interior shows a lot of different colors, with shades of reddish and grayish brown as well as patches of the pale yellow common in ash wood from the trunk of the tree. There are also areas that display the property known as chatoyancy, where the wood appears to change color depending on the angle you view it from. This combination of swirling grain, variation in color, and wildly convoluted shape is something that can only be found in root wood.

7-1/2 inches in its longest dimension, about 4-1/2 inches wide and 1-1/2 inches high (19 x 11 x 4 cm). A nice size for holding candies or miscellaneous desk items, or perhaps to simply be kept as an ornament and enjoyed for its delightful organic shape and beautiful grain.
