This design was inspired by a page from a book published in the late sixteenth century. I was particularly taken by the knotwork design that was actually made up of words in Latin. Using lines from the 1631 poem, "The Praise of the Needle", this pattern recreates that knotwork design with English words using needle and thread. Information is given in the pattern about the source of my inspiration. This design can be stunningly beautiful in any thread and fabric combination.

Pattern is black and white. When stitching the model, I used two skeins of 5 yards each. Please plan accordingly when picking out your thread.
