This rare, stylish vintage camera is the 1960's Ricoh Auto 35, a rangefinder camera that was the first real point-and-shoot, with its innovative electric eye that produces a perfect picture every time. Just set the film speed, and it's ready to go.

Representing the first major advancement in cameras in two decades, the Ricoh Auto 35 was introduced in 1960 and cost $47.50. It offered the same features as many higher priced cameras. It has a rapid fire film advance lever with a pull down handle, mounted on the bottom. The electric eye includes a needle that advances into a red zone to tell you when a flash is necessary.

The camera's details include:
*Type: rangefinder
*Film: 35 mm
*Lens: Riken-Ricoh f4
*Focusing: fixed focus 5 feet to infinity
*Size: 5 7/8 x 3 5/8 inches (15 x 92 cm)
*Other features: Rapid rewind crank, film counter, hotshoe for flash, port for autotimer, attachment rings for strap, bushing for tripod screwing in

With its classic charcoal gray and silver style, this camera would look wonderful on display. It seems to be in very good condition but needs a good cleaning and has not been film tested. But the film advance, shutter, selenium light meter, and lens settings all appear to work. There is little body damage--just some loss of color on the camera name and a few small scratches on the outside of the lens. Two of the three screws on the hotshoe mount are missing.

This camera also comes with half of a leather camera case--not ideal, but it will help protect it during use.
