Item details

Vintage from the 1960s

Materials

Rhinestones, Glass Stones, Crystals, Prong set stones

Glorious vintage crystal Christmas tree with dangling garlands. Made in Czechoslovakia in the 1960-70s with best quality Czech multi faceted large crystals and rhinestones with brilliant spark, some with open back. All the stones are set set in prongs, all original and present. This beautiful bright tree is in great condition. After Christmas = before Christmas 💙

SIZE: 8 inches tall / 20 cm

👉 The production of Czech rhinestone trees did not start before late 1960s, they are definitely not dated back to the 1930s, especially if the pieces contain AB stones, which were developed by Swarovski in 1955.

FAKE DESIGNS ALERT
Signatures 'Husár D', Taboo or BIJOUX MG are not old Czech
traditional designer names or marks, as many sellers wrongly
claim. These pieces are not vintage, but recently made
in vintage look.
Offering Husár D or Taboo as vintage is a deception.
Mr. David Husár (45) currently living in Jablonec
(Gablonz), Czech Republic, manufacturing and selling
rhinestone and glass jewelry.
👉No jewelry designer would attach his name on an
unfinished (soldered) piece!
Don't buy antique or vintage Czech vintage Costume Jewelry
without seeing a detailed photo of the back.
Unfinished and signed = FAKE!

Offering Aurora Borealis jewelry from the 1920s is misleading.
Aurora Borealis is an iridescent rhinestone finish developed
by Swarovski in 1955. These rhinestones were widely used
in costume jewelry in the late 1950s and early 1960s.

A bit history of Rhinestones:
Gablonz, a city in Bohemia, Czech Republic (former Czechoslovakia)
is the cradle of costume jewelry. The first artificial jewelry was
produced in 18th century in Gablonz and was exported throughout
Europe. Already in 1820 Gablonz makers exported more than 2½ bilion
cut glass beads and rhinestones in a year worldwide. Beginning 1830's
Gablonz craftsmen began making lines of fashion jewelry thousands
tons of glass components and rhinestones were exported into the
whole world, especially to the USA.
In 1918 the Czechs and Slovaks became united, were freed from the
rule of Austria and Hungary and the land was called Czechoslovakia.
Prior to World War I, the jewelry from this area was called Bohemian
and mostly not marked. After WW I (1918) the jewelry was marked
with Czecho, Czecho-Slovakia, Czechoslovakia or Made in Czechoslovakia.
👉 All these pieces are plated on the back, NOT heavily soldered,
as some sellers absolutely wrongly claim.
