Item details

This is an Owens-Illinois Glass decanter bottle made sometime in the years between 1930 and 1944. The numbers on the bottom around the diamond in the circle are 6, 4, 8. Six for the plant which tells us was in Charleston, West Virginia. Four for the date of 1930 to 1944 and Eight for the mold details. That is the number that I do not know about.

The frosted bottle decoration is fern-like trees with round ornaments hanging on them. So that tells me this bottle was probably made for Christmas gifts of lacquer of some kind. There is a raised banner like area which must have been where the label was.

This vintage bottle stands 10 and 1/2 inches high. It is 2 and 3/4s inches across the bottom and approx. 15 inches around at the widest place. The neck is 5 inches high.

It is in excellent vintage condition with no chips or cracks in the glass. The cork around the stopper is old and slightly chipped away. It no longer stays tight inside the neck.

This vintage frosted glass decanter is an excellent collector's piece.
