Vintage cookbook illustrated history of American Eating and Drinking. Published by American Heritage Publishing, copyright 1964. The introduction starts out "kissing don't last, cookery do!" As Thomas Wolfe put it "There is no spectacle on earth more appealing than that of a beautiful woman in the act of cooking dinner for someone she loves."
This is not just a cookbook but a history of cooking from pioneer wives to settled farm and plantation to the civil war and more. Full of exciting illustrations and photographs of American history and loaded with savory recipes. The books are in very good condition, I can truthfully say they were never used. The protective cover has a few worn areas but is also in good condition.
