This is the view I had from my tent while camping in the Lake District. I was attracted to the higher than usual horizon and the sharp contrast between the whitewashed farmhouse and the dark woodland in the background.

I lived for a couple of years on the edge of the fens; one of the flattest area in Britain. Whenever I could get away for a few days, I'd head for the Lakes.

Where I live now isn't quite so flat but I still yearn to get back to Cumbria.

The painting is in a 15cm x 10.5cm mat with a 2cm border.
