Pattern for a Mantis throw. This pattern comes with both a graph and written instructions.

You will need 5 skeins of the background color and 2 skeins of the mantis color to complete this project.

It is 150 stitches wide x 145 rows tall.

Mine came out 2' 2" wide by 4' 9" tall (this will vary based on how tight your stitching is and the type of yarn you use) This pattern can be repeated and sewn together or it can be combined with other patterns that are 150 stitches wide. ---Most of my patterns are 150 stitches wide---

This pattern can be made with the type of yarn of your choice. I crocheted the example with Red Heart's Super saver yarn and others of similar weight and feel (which is a medium weight yarn) and used a crochet hook size J (6.00MM).

I changed the background color a few times in the example blanket because I was using scrap yarn I had available. The pattern will only reflect two colors, the background color and mantis color.

It is all single stitch crochet. In order to make this blanket you will need to know how to carry yarn (there are great youtube videos that can teach you how to do the Tapestry Crochet Technique. I highly recommend trying a small simple pattern to practice carrying yarn before attempting a larger project. Carrying yarn gets more difficult as you add more colors, at only 2 colors this one is simple.

Once you have purchased this pattern a text document that like this (below) will automatically download to you. If you have any trouble receiving it message me and I will have it e-mailed to you in no time. This pattern also comes with a Graph!

1.) A-150
2.) A-30, B-20, A-10, B-50
3....

The #'s are for each row
The letters are for different colors. (A = White, B = Dark Green )
(so the above pattern would have the first row be 150 stitches of color A. 2nd row would have 30 stitches of color A followed by 20 stitches of color B followed by 10 stitches of color A and so on....)

I make custom patterns as well. If you are interested in a pattern that does not exist message me and we can talk about having one custom designed for you.

I was interested in tapastry technique for a while, and this pattern was a little bit complex for first tapestry work, but I was able to manage it due to the good and easy to follow description. I modified the middle part of the wings and added a boarder and hangers. It was a present for my nephew and he loved it! Thank you for the pattern!

Really easy pattern. My 1st project carrying yarn, took me about 1 month on and off to complete. Thoroughly enjoyed seeing the design appear as I progressed. Love the final product. My husband loves it too. It was my main 2nd wedding anniversary present. Much gratitude for the pattern.
