Mementos no.2 is the continuation of a new series of small, whimsical drawings of every day objects....the things we use and surround ourselves with throughout our lives....things that carry the memories of our experience....the witnesses to the events of our unfolding days. These drawings are quite small and float in the middle of a vast, empty plane...symbolic of our own existence, so fleeting in the schme of things.

The drawings are made with ink on teabag fragments and then adhered to Japanese paper with matte medium, which smears the ink (one of those happy accidents I discovered when it first happened) just enough to make it feel aged and of another time. The entire page is dipped in beeswax and then adhered to a backing sheet of Japanese paper with a row of tiny beads at the bottom and two stitches in the upper corners.

The work measures approximately 10 1/2" high x 4 1/2" wide and will come carefully packaged and ready for you to frame or display as you desire. The beeswax makes the work delicate...please keep away from sources of direct heat, such as the intense summer sun!

Thank you for browsing MissouriBendStudio...enjoy!
