Paniers or – the later variant – pocket hoops are a must for every period gown from the 18th century.
Our pocket hoops are modelled after extant garments and have proven to be reliable skirt supports, even for heavy gowns.

Every pocket has three massive german flat steels inside, to support all the skirts above them. The steel bones can be removed, for storage and of course, washing the pocket hoops.

What makes our pocket hoops special is that we offer these in three widths - so you can choose the perfect one for your needs.

Go for the big one with 28cm / 11inch side width (each pocket) for a bigger court dress, or the small variant with 20cm /7.9inch for the more decent civic everyday dress. Or choose the medium size with 24cm /9.5 inch size - all refer to the measurement taken at the bottom of each pocket (see pictures) - which will extend to both sides from you hips outwards.

The panniers can be used as pockets, too - so you can easily store your personal stuff without an extra bag to carry around.

Our pocket hoops are made from a sturdy, middle weight 100% cotton twill, you can choose between black or white, and if you need a different colour - just drop us a line :)

If you want the super deluxe version of these pocket hoops, we also have a very unique model with tulle ruffles sewn over the hoop casings for you.
This not only cusions the steels from showing through on the skirts worn ober them - super-extra ugly! - it also adds even more volume to your finest gown.
You can find them listed in black and white in our "Hoop Skirts" shop category.

And if you need a petticoat to go over your pocket hoops - have a look at the "Historical Garments" category.

We can, of course, make these pocket hoops in white, too, in our „hoop skirts“ section, you can find a listing for white pocket hoops as well

Any other colour can be made as well - just drop us a note!

For more historical accuracy, we can make the ruffles in plain cotton, or leave them away. Just tell us what you'd like to have, and we're happy to make the perfect garment for you!

If you need a petticoat to go with our pockets, browse our „Historical Garments“ section, there you can find one – it is perfectly fitted to our paniers and pocket hoops.

We do make complete gowns and dresses as well – if you are interested in one, feel free to message us!
