This fruitbowl used to be one of Grandma Doll's most prized possessions. It sat on her dining table with faux fruit in it, until she needed it for something important, like giving the cat a bath, or serving trifle to guests. (Don't ask about the cat hairs in the trifle).

Grandma Doll told people it was Napoleon's Fruit Bowl, along with a story of how Napoleon would take an orange or kumquat from the fruit bowl and tuck it in his jacket to eat later. He did this often, but no one was able to catch him doing it. They would try, but all they would see was his hand slipping into his jacket, but never any fruit. His slipping-fruit-into-his-jacket look became a famous trademark for him, all because of this fruitbowl, according to Grandma.

But now Grandma wants to sell the bowl because of Grandpa.

One day Grandpa Doll let slip that he had bought this fruitbowl from a local middle-aged grumpy potter woman. It had been new at the time, and he had given it to Grandma Doll for Christmas. Now Grandma is upset that she can no longer say it was Napoleon's fruitbowl. She says Grandpa is making it look like she tells untrue stories! Poor Grandma! Now she can only show off her Napoleon's dinner plate, Napoleon's tea cozy and Napoleon's microwave.

This fruitbowl is made from porcelain and glazed with Oribe green Celadon glaze. It was made to one inch scale. It is 1.5 inches wide and 3/4 inch tall.
