Vintage from before 2000

Material

Ceramic

This ceramic cream pitcher is beautifully painted and glazed with intentional flowing of the paint to artistically vary the color on different parts of the piece. The deep rose color is also very eye catching - especially for spring.

With the richness of this unique shade of pink and the simple lines of the design this was displayed to striking effect along with coordinating pieces in the china cabinet at the estate which offered them.

The bottom of the saucers that match this piece are incised under the glaze with the word JAPAN, so I think it's safe to assume that this cream pitcher is also from Japan, and I believe it probably dates from the mid 1900s when a lot of very pretty ceramic ware was being imported from Japan.

The pitcher is 4 3/4" long from edge of handle to edge of spout, 3" high x 4" wide at its widest part. The appealing look of this for spring might make you think of wanting to show it off by using it as planter for a couple of different types of easy care succulent plants that could find a spot in many locations in a home. The creamer is in pristine condition to use yourself or to give as a gift.
