Bigfoot Beto Bracelet AND Screw Back Earrings - Early Taxco Pre-Eagle - 7.5 Inches - 1940s - Adorable And Different-vintage
RESERVED FOR BOOKSNBEADS
SALE PRICE
BETO was a silversmith who worked in Taxco with William Spratling. His work is becoming more and more desirable and collectible.

This is a beautiful bracelet and matching screw-backed earring set in a classic Beto design which uses a design in inlaid silver. The earrings match one panel of the bracelet and the toes of the feet. This is a beautiful set to wear as well as a great investment piece. The bracelet measures 7.5+ inches long. The original clasp is all there, but a safety ring has been added - probably a good idea, but easily removed if you wish. This set is for someone who has a sense of humor while still appreciating old-world craftsmanship and beauty - someone who knows who she is. The colors are beautiful. This would be the perfect accent for the beach or a cruise and adorable with your summer tan. The bracelet alone is worth more than this!

You can find Beto references in The Little Book of Mexican Silver Trade and Hallmarks (2006 edition) on pages 27, 228, and 241 as well as in Billie Hougart's reference book.

This is the second piece of Beto I have been able to offer in the shop and I love it. This is adorable. I especially like the way Beto used pattern on the "toes" and then used it on the earrings. Very designer. Beto pieces are on the rise - this designer has been discovered. Why invest in stocks and bonds when you can have a piece of art you can wear. (my hubby does not necessarily agree with this.)
