As a Montessori preschool teacher, the children in my classroom love imitating rhythm. I play a rhythm and they play it back. We play loud and soft, slow and fast. We march and play to the beat of our feet. We play what it would sound like if an elephant entered the classroom and how it would change if a teeny, tiny mouse followed behind.

The very best way for children to start keeping rhythm is with simple rhythm sticks. They are easy to hold, involve both arms for great body movement and play on the child's natural pleasure in striking objects together to produce sound. These beautiful maple rhythm sticks are sanded smooth and make an amazingly lovely sound. Straight from the mouth of our three year old daugther, "These sound so cool!"

Sold in two sets (4 sticks) because music is best made together!
