delicate orchidaceae, found blooming in the hollow. blossoming from bits of antique kimono robes, scattered to the wind ...

* as seen in the fall 2011 issue of better homes and gardens' 'do it yourself' magazine...

this piece is part of my new collection of trailing orchids. entirely hand stitched, using two vintage recycled 1950's kimono wool fabrics, along with recycled cashmere, and recycled wool. nestled within this lovely vintage bird, with roots, leaves, and bits of earthy moss peaking through. ready for hanging. looks lovely sitting on a shelf, mantle, or table as well, with the blossoms trailing down.

the wire frame of the orchid allows the stem and flowers to be gently moved and shaped

measures about 20" tall.

please convo me with any questions you may have
