Flight No. 111
Date: 2011
Size: 4.25"
This little piece is a one-of-a-kind original woodburning. It is the continuation of a series of all things flying, falling and fluttering.

This piece is a combination of woodburning and a mix of casein and acrylic paint. I have permanently mounted a sheet of italian poplar wood to the embroidery hoop, which acts as a frame for the piece, and sanded and beveled the edges smooth. This detailed little insect has been carefully burned onto the wood with my woodburning tools. You can find a clip of me working on another piece of mine here (just copy and paste the link to your web browser). I then accented both the insect and background with a mix of white casein/acrylic paint. The edges of this piece are smooth and seamless and the bond of poplar to the hoop is permanent. The back has been titled and numbered, signed and dated

This little piece will look amazing displayed in a cluster of wall art. There will be more pieces in this series to come, so please check on back.

**This listing is for the piece shown in the first photo only only. All other pieces are not included with this listing, but may be available in my shop.

As always, please don't hesitate to contact me with any questions!
