Item details

Vintage from the 1930s

Mexican Arts and Crafts WPA era 12” scenic plaque. Señora and niño walking to the village market with the fruit basket balanced on her head. A charming scene! On red clay, signed San Jose Mission with a glazed Maguey craftmark on the front. In excellent condition, with no cracks, chips or repairs. The rich brown surround glaze is enhanced by the bright colors and Mexicana scene inside. Made and glazed by hand it shows slight imperfections as is common with a hand crafted piece. See photos.
One of 6 scenes available.
