Thanks for taking a look at my solid red oak bookbinding nipping press.

This press is designed to be a lighter and more economical version of those fantastic old cast iron book presses that are becoming increasingly expensive and difficult to find.

The press measures 16" x11" x 14" . It opens to a distance of 7" which is enough space to press several thick books simultaneously.

The pressing bed measures 12" by 11 1/4" and can accommodate books up to 12" wide between the posts. This press functions both vertically and horizontally giving it the advantages of both a standing and lying press for great versatility, something cast iron presses can't do. The edges on one side of the press are rounded providing some of the function of a finishing press as well.

The 12" screw on this press features a heavy- duty acme thread that allows for much more pressing strength and a much smoother movement than a normally threaded screw. This is the same type of threading used in bench vises. The press has been finished with multiple coats of a hand rubbed finish for long lasting durability and beauty.
This is a very reasonably priced press of good quality. I'm an amateur bookbinder and I have been using an identical press for several years with fantastic results. But don't take my word for it, shop around and take a look at the other presses available from other sources and professional bookbinding suppliers. I'm confident that you will realize what a fantastic deal you are getting with this press.

In addition to its primary function as a bookbinding press my customers have used them for pressing everything from flowers to comic books. It is even possible to use this press for small scale letterpress and block printing.

Terms:

Your Press will be shipped 7-10 business days after you place your order. Because I work out of a remarkably small shop, I cut out all the parts for these presses in large batches and then assemble, stain and finish them as they are ordered. Finished presses take up a lot of room in my shop and this is the best solution I have come up with. You will receive a press identical to the one pictured.

If my system causes you any concern please contact me. I have been making these for a few years now and they are all identically well made.

Shipping within the lower 48 is a flat 20.00.
International bidders please contact me for a shipping quote.

I prefer payments made with Paypal but I will also accept Money Orders. As I'm sure you can imagine, payments made by money order will delay shipment somewhat.
