Flowering Tree on Cobalt Blue Italian Glass # 578

Colorful, cheerful, handmade dish. It's fused glass and one of a kind. It measures just under 5" x 5". Great gift for a wife, daughter, girlfriend, or anyone who enjoys art glass, flowers or Italian treasures. Use it to hold jewelry, coins, seashells, trinkets or nothing at all.

The base is bright cobalt blue translucent Italian glass. I created a flowering tree using sparkling goldstone cane as its trunk and a variety of small millefiore flowers. Each 'flower' is a slice of glass cut from a handblown rod with a pretty design in its center. Millefiore is a a technique developed by glassmakers in Murano, Venice, Italy centuries ago, still practiced there and across the world. The millefiore I chose for this one include flowers, sunshine, stars, bullseyes and quatrefoil.

This small plate is one of a kind, made in my home studio. Fired once to set the design and a second time in a ceramic mold to give it raised corners and dimension.

You can lay the glass on its back or display it on edge in a lucite stand, shown in photos #5, 6 and 10. The stand is available separately for $4. Just let me know you want one when you place your order. I'll send you a Paypal invoice and include it ( no additional shipping) with your millefiore dish or create a separate listing for you. Its seamless, strong and attractive, perfect for this dish.

Thanks for looking and feel free to ask questions. Your glass will be packed with care and shipped promptly. You will LOVE it!
