Sale! %5.50. This is another photographic plate rescued from a damaged book from the 1960's. The carrier shell is a wonderful symbol of brotherhood. I have some other carrier shell bookplates in my shop if you want a pair or grouping. Unlike the other color ones I have listed, this one is not still on the page. I have some that are hand-tipped, meaning they are actual photographs attached gently to the page. I have wondered if one could come off easily , tried it, and this one did! Great condition to be 42 plus years old!
Lovely matte background, black with some slight shading like reflections. I also have some attached to the page and printed on the page for sale in SeaSeaRider. Some great black/whites also. All of them have amazing backgrounds. Backgrounds in some are as stunning as the shells themselves. Many shells look like they are floating and the backgrounds have reflections, bubbles, graduated shading, etc. My photos do not do these justice. Everyone who has purchased these loves them!
I love the Carrier Shell. Saw my first one for sale several years ago on Sanibel Island. Somehow in all my years of collecting and beachcombing I had never seen one. They are special. Carrier shells are generally swirled flat like shell that have other shells attached to them. Sometimes they have bits of coral, sponges, and other sea growths. Special and so unique.
I am labeling this one Carrier Shell I since I have several of these I am listing. Would make a great pair, trio if you want more than one print.
This photograph measures 8 7/8" by 7". Wonderful matte patina and finish. This Carrier Shell has awesome organic details with lots of shells, coral bits, etc. in colors of cream, taupe, shades of orange, brown, gray, and a little black. Unlike the other shell prints from the same book, this one doesn't have a border since it is no longer attached to the page. Some of the others have natural borders formed by the white page. Some are full page and have no border. This one is a little less on shipping because it is smaller without the page.

Several other types of vintage shell prints in SeaSeaRider that you can buy individually or buy for a pair or grouping. Convo me if you see one you like but want some ideas of what to match it with. Have a few more rescued from the book that I haven't listed yet. Will be glad to do a special listing for you!
Will give discount shipping for more than one print. Always do my best to discount shipping for multiple purchases even though my chart doesn't reflect. CONVO for quote.
Shipping is for MAINLAND U.S. Convo with zip for Hawaii or Alaska. I do ship OUTSIDE U.S so convo me!
