Item details

beaver chewed log

Height: 6.5 Inches

A small flower vase made from the stump of a sapling oak tree that was chewed through by beavers. The beaver tooth-marks form the top rim of the vase, and the coarse, gnarly bark gives the piece extra visual interest while providing a wonderful contrast to the delicate beauty of flowers. The section of log is attached to a base made of walnut with a scalloped edge. The vase is coated on the inside with epoxy, so it will hold water indefinitely without harming the wood. The outside is finished with polyurethane and lacquer.

6-1/2 inches (16.5 cm) tall and the log is 2-1/2 inches (6.5 cm) in diameter.

Put some flowers in this vase and it becomes a delightful encapsulation of the many different ways that the natural world can bring beauty and wonder into our lives.
