Kokopelli is a southwestern native American tradition generally associated with the Hopi tribe. He is variously credited with fertility and health, music and dance, and storytelling and pranks. Depictions of him are found in petroglyphs as far back as 200AD and are believed to be a part of ancient Anasazi tales. He is a familiar image in southwestern art today in all his varying depictions.
