SHIPPING DELAY. We are away on a buying trip; shipping will resume on October 28, 2019. This top grain cowhide briefcase in the style of a doctor's actually comes from a doctor's estate. Invented by Lewis Lifton, patented in 1949 as the "Stabilized Briefcase" (see last image), and manufactured by WearBest of Cincinnati, it's the ultimate businessman's briefcase. It has a roomy main compartment with two cardboard dividers and a zippered rear compartment with dividers for file folders. The previous owner's initials are embossed in gold lettering on the front. Please see below for dimensions and condition.

APPROX. MEASUREMENTS:
18 x 13 x 7 in.

CONDITION: Good antique to vintage condition with signs of wear and age (please see photos). Leather is scuffed and stiff in areas, and the front flap has top surface cracks. Front latch hooks but doesn't latch; however, briefcase stays closed. There is a hole below the right-hand hinge, and the two back zippers are oxidized and frozen. Still useful for storage, vintage office decor, or photography prop. Priced accordingly.

A NOTE ABOUT VINTAGE: Everything we sell at AlegriaCollection is vintage, meaning that it's at least 20 years old, often much older. Consequently, most of our items show evidence of previous use and, in general, this is viewed as adding to the aged character of a piece. We make every effort to accurately describe any flaws and encourage you to carefully read the description, particularly when purchasing vintage as a gift.
