Herstory:
Laurel Burch left a broken home at age 14 with only a paper bag of clothing in the 1960's. She met a jazz musician, Robert Burch, got married but later divorced at age 20 with two children. She supported herself and her children by making jewelry at her kitchen table in Haight-Ashbury, San Francisco, and sold them on the street. She is famous for her colorful inspiring images of people, cats, birds, horses, butterflies, flowers, and fish. Lauren passed away due to complications from osteoporosis which she had all her life. Although fragile and always in pain, Lauren chose to send uplifting messages to the world through her imaginable colorful artwork.

It was just about 1980, and I was taking the Express Bus home from Manhattan, in New York City. A girl I knew ran up to me in excitement and said "You got to see these earrings from this new artist". She showed me these wonderful unsigned Cloisonne Cat Earrings and I bought them. They were the Early Cloisonne Leopard Cat Earrings by the fabulous Laurel Burch. They were only hallmarked Silver since Laurel Burch did not have her signature on her pieces then.

These Earrings are Laurel's early work too, most likely when she was backed by Shashi Singapuri or made for Chinese Export before she started Laurel Burch Inc. It is signed SILVER on the earwire and carefully tests for Sterling Silver guaranteed! They are in Excellent condition. No missing enamel. No chipping. The Earrings are exquisite in person! The enamel gives them an indescribable iridescence that is gorgeous in colors with a soothing radiant turquoise hue!
