Aunt Laura . . . . . a friend of the family from when my Mom was young. I was named after her. She was born 103 years ago this May.

Her home was filled with lots of love and beautiful items. The Cat in the Clover's new Vintage shop is named for her because most of the items that will be listed belonged to her. While she was not a blood relative, she was closer to me than many of my real relatives. She and Uncle Johnny were a very unique, special couple!

Enjoy these one-of-a-kind vintage treasures!

Back in Aunt Laura’s time, women wore gloves everywhere! She had a really nice collection of daytime and evening gloves. The last photo is Aunt Laura with gloves!

Glove length is referred to in terms of “buttons” which has nothing to do with actual buttons that might be on the gloves! A button is a little bit longer than one inch. Wrist length gloves are usually eight-button, elbow length are 16-button, mid-biceps are 22-button, and full shoulder length are 30-button. Opera gloves are between 16 and 22 inches long, but can also be as long as 29-30 inches!

To fit yourself for gloves, measure all around your hand at the widest part of your palm, where your knuckles are, but exclude your thumb. The measurement in inches is the glove size. If your arms are large, you may need to go up one size.

Some of the gloves I’m listing have sizes indicated. Most of these gloves appear small and narrow, so please be aware of that if purchasing. They make lovely displays either in shadow boxes, draped over a vintage purse, or paired with a vintage hat.

Color: White
Type: 100% Nylon
Made: USA , Wear-Right
Size: None given
Condition: No tears, some slight pilling from wear
Seams: Good, stitching at top of glove has been hand stitched/fixed
Decoration/Detail: Pearls - one missing on right glove

I will describe the condition of the gloves to the best of my ability. Buyer is responsible for condition of gloves if you attempt to clean them. Please do your research on proper cleaning methods. Remember that these are vintage and should be treated with kid gloves - LOL!
