Our friend Stephen Kotlowski, of Phenomenal Facets, has won numerous AGTA Specturm awards and has been honored with the title of Supreme Master Faceter several times. He has had a long and amazing career handing some of the rarest stones on earth. His talents for bringing the most out of a stone are amazing. He designs the faceting as he goes with each stone. Therefore he is able to work with and around flaws.

We are happy to offer this gorgeous "Uniquely K" Modified Rectangular Barion. The way Stephen cuts stones guarantees that even in very dim candle light you'll get sparks and flashes from the depth of the stone.

His expertise with faceting extends to how to even align the stones to bring out their best colors. As in all crystals, the alignment that is best for weight retention in faceting is not always the best for the color of the final stone. We've always left the decision up to Stephen to cut for size or color. He has never failed to produce both size and color out of the humblest of stones!

Have you ever noticed how some doves have that mauve, purple or pink tone to the taupe/grey feathers? Or the color of pink cala lilies, cymbidium orchids, or clouds in a beautiful pink sunset? Those translucent multi-layered hues are like the base color of his stone. In candle light or regular 75 watt bulbs it goes to a deep red! And even purple in halogen lights! Two of the photos are controlled lighting photos from Phenomenal Facets the others are taken in ambient light here in Florida.

With regards to the clarity of stones, in color change garnets inclusions are allowed/acceptable according to the GIA. It is much the same as with emeralds. The more rare the stone the more they allow to be in the stone. And these are rare with only a few thousand gem worthy stones being produced annually. The last picture is actually the mine this stone came from!

Take that to heart when viewing the stones.

Most stones aren't met that up close and personal. We come to you honest and up front about all the flaws that are naturally inherent in our stones. Some say ignorance is bliss but I prefer to let you know that I'm not hiding the details.

You can have a custom piece of jewelry made with this through my jewelry shop here on Etsy http://www.MieleMelograno.etsy.com/
